About Four Seasons Lodging

Same Family, Same Promise, Since 1968.

Fifty-eight years in, and we still get a small kick out of watching headlights swing into our lot at the end of a long day. And that'll never get old.

It's the kind of thing you can't really put on a resume, but it's exactly what's kept Four Seasons Lodging standing on Highway 62 since 1968.

Running a small motel for that long has a way of sharpening exactly what hospitality means.

It means a bed that's made properly, Wi-Fi that actually reaches the room, and a person at the desk who's genuinely glad you stopped. Those are the things we've built our whole approach around, and they're also what separate a place that means it from a place that's just saying it.

None of it is complicated, really. All of it takes showing up for it, night after night, for fifty-eight years running.

We may not have invented this approach – but we've perfected it over time.

We're a family business, and we've kept our prices honest and our rooms clean because that's what's let us stay open for fifty-eight years in a town where everybody eventually finds out if you haven't. There's no franchise agreement dictating how we do things here – just a family that's been doing it the same steady way, and has no particular interest in changing that now.

The People Behind the Desk at Four Seasons Motel

The People Behind the Desk

There's no call center here.

When you dial (812) 838-4821, you get someone who works here.

More often than not, that's Judy – and she's run this desk long enough to double as an unofficial historian of the area. Guests who mention they're headed north to New Harmony usually leave with better directions and better stories than they expected.

That kind of knowledge comes from staying in one place long enough to actually know it, not from a training manual that anyone can replicate.

That's been the plan since 1968: stay true to what we've built, and keep the kind of desk where the person asking you how your trip went actually means it.

Rooted in Mount Vernon

This isn't a motel that just happens to sit in Mount Vernon, Indiana.

It's a motel that belongs to the town. We've watched the town change from our stretch of Highway 62 for over half a century, and that history is part of what we offer guests – a front desk where a call gets you real directions to the place you wish to visit instead of a Google Maps link, or a candid read on whether Riverbend Park is worth the walk that afternoon.

Sharon's Country Kitchen and Hawg N Sauce cover most of what a hungry traveler could be looking for, and the Half Moon Saloon is there for whoever's in the mood to wind down the night.

Warmer months bring our outdoor pool back into rotation for anyone who wants to unwind after a long drive.

The Promise, Still Standing

Our whole approach comes down to follow-through: telling a guest their room will be clean and quiet, and then it is. Telling them Wi-Fi works in the room, and then it does. That kind of consistency, year after year, without cutting a corner nobody notices until it's too late – that's what fifty-eight years of guests coming back is actually built on.

It's a quieter kind of hospitality than most places advertise, and it's the kind we know how to do. Guests notice that kind of thing, even when they don't say so out loud.

That's still the whole operation. A family, a highway, and a promise we've had a long time to get right.
